About Stuart

I am a full time guitar teacher Cirencester, offering guitar tuition / guitar lessons in Acoustic and Electric Guitar.

I have enjoyed playing and performing guitar and singing as well as writing and recording music for over 20 years. I am a Registered Tutor of the RGT (Registry Of Guitar Tutors) who offer internationally recognised qualifications certified by the London College Of Music. I have a BA Hons Music Degree which has given me a firm understanding of music theory and its application.

I play at many live music venues in and around Cirencester, Cheltenham, Swindon, Stroud and London and perform at private functions and corporate events. This experience has helped me to aid students who wish to be more confident with their playing in front of friends, on stage or need to perform at school or particular event (weddings etc.) which is wonderful as music is meant to be shared.

I have a strong background in song writing, winning the Earls Court Unsigned Artist Trophy and the SEB Collective Singer Songwriter Competition, both prestigious London based song writing competitions. Many students would like to and do compose songs or musical pieces. One of my favourite parts of teaching is in helping students realise their creative ideas without imposing my own.

My singing background means that I can assist students who sing and would like to learn to accompany themselves on guitar. We can look at practice techniques, coordination and performance skills merging singing into your guitar lessons.

I also play piano and often use it to help students who have or would like to have knowledge of the piano to gain further understanding of music theory and practice.

I have many years experience in recording both my own and other peoples compositions and study progress. I have a comprehensive studio recording setup allowing students to capture and realise their musical ideas. I can advise students on the purchase and use of studio equipment including guitars, microphones, speakers, mixing desks, PC’s, recording packages and software etc.

Above all I am endlessly enthusiastic about music and love working with both adults and children, seeing them develop and being part of their enjoyment of music.
